Weapons

Help Weapons Most objects can be used as a weapon. To use an object as a weapon, simply hold (weapon) with (part) [and (part)...and (part)...]. Using multiple parts requires the two-handed version of the skill. The first body part mentioned controls the allocations that are used by the weapon; the remainder do nothing. Weapons have a bonus or penalty which affects the chances to actually land a blow, AND they have a damage multiplier which affects how hard they hit when they DO connect--a negative bonus with a high multiplier means a weapon is difficult to use but does a great deal of damage when it hits a target.

Note that weapon skill modifies your chances of parrying when using that type of weapon to parry with. Also note that you cannot parry with your bare hands...

Certain of these skills are currently unavailable to players. The following skills affect the use of certain weapons during a fight: SWORD - how well you use a bladed weapon HAFTED - use of any weapon with a warhead placed on a haft TWO-HANDED SWORD/HAFTED - whenever using a bladed or hafted weapon with more than one hand THROWN - is used when you try to throw an object may be used from the rear ranks of a party SHIELD USE - enables you to use a shield as a weapon (and to parry with).
