Welcome to DartMUD, the Lands of Ferdarchi
Before you can generate your character and begin your exploration of the lands of Ferdarchi, you will need to use our automatic registration system.
First, please read this entire file!
Then, you may register on the web or by e-mail.
Select a name: Character names must be one word, less than 11 characters, and are recommended to conform to the medieval theme of the mud.
If you have not already done so, you should log in to DartMUD with your desired name before registering it, to be sure it is valid.
Once you have decided on a name, you may register.
NOTICE: Characters using apparently bogus registration information are subject to deletion without notice. Additionally, characters registered from hotmail.com, yahoo.com, and other pseudo-anonymous services may be deleted without notice if they should ever be suspected of cheating. This happens infrequently, but you're better off giving your regular e-mail address if you have one. We will not sell your e-mail address to anyone. You will not receive any mailings except for the registration password.

To register by e-mail:
Since the e-mail program is kinda dumb, you must follow these directions EXACTLY:
1. Address your e-mail to dartmud@dartmud.com
2. The subject line must be:
register
3. The first line of the body must be:
character name
where "name" is the name of the character being registered.
4. The second and final line must be:
player My Name
where "My Name" is your real name, first and last.
5. Send it!
After you have registered: In a short time, you should receive e-mail with a password for character generation. This is very important - write it down and keep it.
NOTE: The registration password is not the same as your regular password. However, you may need the registration password again, should you ever die.
You will get an error message back if you have a weird mailer. If your return e-mail address is not valid, you won't get ANYTHING back.
Contact a creator if you're having trouble getting registered automatically, and we can do it by hand. While in Purgatory, type "gripe". This is a quick way to contact a creator if there's one available.
Now that that's done, and you have your registration password (which was in the mail you got back from lpmud) you may proceed to log on and generate your character.
If you are roaming the lands as a tourist, you must return to Purgatory to generate your character. Type "return".
You may be required to wait in Purgatory for 10 minutes. This is a good time to read helpfiles. The helpfiles in the "newbie" and "rules" categories are of particular importance.
When you are ready to generate your character, simply type "enter pool". If you are waiting for a 10 minute delay to expire, you can determine how old you are by typing "score" or "?".
You will then need to enter the password you were mailed, after which you can choose a race, and your favorite stats.
