For full membership privileges, you may use our automatic registration system.
First, please read this entire file!
Please also read the "reg_rules" helpfile.
Then, you may register on the web or by e-mail.
Select a name: Character names must be one word, less than 11 characters, and are recommended to conform to the medieval theme of the mud.
If you have not already done so, you should log in to DartMUD with your desired name before registering it, to be sure it is valid.
Once you have decided on a name, you may register.
To register on the World Wide Web:
Go to www.dartmud.com and find the web version of this helpfile.
To register by e-mail:
Since the e-mail program is kinda dumb, you must follow these directions EXACTLY:
1. Address your e-mail to dartmud@dartmud.com
2. The subject line must be:
register
3. The first line of the body must be:
character name
where "name" is the name of the character being registered.
4. The second and final line must be:
player My Name
where "My Name" is your real name, first and last.
5. Send it!
After you have registered: In a short time, you should receive e-mail with a password for character generation. This is very important - write it down and keep it.
NOTE: The registration password is not the same as your regular password. However, you may need the registration password again, should you ever die.
You will get an error message back if you have a weird mailer. If your return e-mail address is not valid, you won't get ANYTHING back.
Contact a creator if you're having trouble getting registered automatically, and we can do it by hand. While in Purgatory, type "gripe". This is a quick way to contact a creator if there's one available.
Once you have your password:
If you are playing as an unregistered member, you may upgrade to registered status at the Hall of Mortals, in the OOC area.
If you are roaming the lands as a tourist, you must return to Purgatory to generate your character. Type "return".
When you are in Purgatory, to generate your character, simply type "enter pool". You may then enter the password you were mailed, choose a race, gender, size, and stats.
