Key points about the new time and aging system:
1. We expect stuff to break because of this. Bug reports submitted in a calm, cohesive, and comprehensive manner will receive prompt attention. Any restitution for losses will be determined on a case by case basis.
2. The length of daylight in RL time has not changed.
3. The available natural light now depends on the weather and the positions of the various celestial bodies.
4. You should age much more slowly than you did before.
5. You will age while offline.
6. Racial lifespans are different, some radically so.
7. The age printed with the "score" or "?" command is your SOUL age, not your BODY age.
8. Your body age can only be determined by your appearance, and may be influenced by wear and tear.
9. Stats may fluctuate as you age.
10. Many of you whose new ages were calculated from your old age received a major break in terms of how close to death you really were.
11. Rowans are still screwed.
12. Any unaging modalities which might exist will still work, we believe to an appropriate degree.
13. Blame Raven and Ogma for the mess.
14. Known bugs and ugliness so far:
* Bulletin board date length formatting. * NPC apparent body ages not matching their long desc
15. FAQs:
Q: Do we still age faster in hexes? A: Yes, but it's handled slightly differently.
Q: Why don't I have an apparent age? A: You're in that gray area between youth and middle age.
Q: Why are my stats acting weird? A: The first time you logged in to get your new age, it may have calculated your abilities based on your existing age. If you are now excessively young or excessively old, your stats may have changed. This may be a source of bugs - if you continue to have problems, please report them, but bear with it for a while.
