Seconds rules

Multiple Characters Policy:

  • Players will be allowed a second character upon approval of an admin.

  • To apply for a second, see the "how to get a second character" helpfile.

  • The two characters must be kept as totally separate individuals.

This means you shall not: - Use one character to assist the other, either in performing a quest, rescue from death or other mishap, or in any other way. - Donate equipment or money through an "intermediary" character (a buddy) from one character to another. - Use the "connections" or friends of the first player to gain perks for the second, or vice versa.* - Use one character to eliminate, kill, steal from, harass, slander, or take other action against enemies of the other character.**

This is not a complete or inclusive list. Use some common sense.

    * If it is widely known among the mud population who your second is, you are probably pushing it. Even if you "roleplay" the char, people will undoubtedly be giving consideration to the actions of the first in their dealings with the second.

Furthermore, if you get killed, and you think it was because of whose second you are - by definition, that's your fault.

** This is only permissible if the second character has a good, role-playable reason why both of your characters should hate the other. And note especially that playing both characters as "greedy, selfish, and generally not nice" does not count. "I heard about what B did to A." is not a valid excuse. If a matter closely concerns your second, stay out of it.

  • The characters must be linked to each other. Linked characters are prevented from logging on at the same time, or within several minutes of each other. You are responsible for making sure your characters are linked.

  • The creators may limit any player to one character.

  • If you already have two characters which are not linked, please notify a creator. Unregistered seconds may be deleted without notice.

  • Characters registered to hotmail, aol, or other well known free and anonymous mail sites will receive zero tolerance if they are suspected of multiplaying or having unlinked seconds.
